ooh..pretty devastated place! looks so ancient! wat were u doing there! is this place destroyed by the war or was it just like that?
:iconflavrsavr:
i guess there hazara - quarter is where the hazars live... it reminds me of some pictures of the village of matejce (kumanovo region, macedonia) who has experienced severe damages during the war conflict in my country.

i am a reporter and that's what i do :-) yes, the place was destroyed during the war, the civil war that began after the soviets had left afghanistan. people took from there what they could use, brick and wood.

the hazara are an ethnic minority in afghanistan (20 % of the population). they lived in the west of kabul mainly. some of the most intense fighting between the various militias took place there. many important writers or scientists in afghanistan are hazara. thousands of hazara were massacred by the taliban, e.g. 1998 in masar-i-sharif.

Wow! Where were you standing when you took this?? That is a great angle! Anything taken from within all those ruins would not have been near so effective at showing the devastation.

I'm having a hard time finding anything to actually critique as far as telling you what I think you did "wrong". I do believe I am in the presence of greatness :worship: or at least talent quite surpassing mine ;)

i was on top of a tower by a mosque. not easy to get up there because the stairs had been hit by shells many times. well, a ruin in fact :) there is a picture of me on it, looking like a tourist - haha

 this is a very good closing word, i guess :D it is past midnight here (late afternoon in kansas i suppose) and i feel like i have to go to bed...

but, and i am not joking, you can do things i will never be able to do. no need to hide your light under a bushel, okay?
take care and good night/afternoon/evening or whatever :)

and once again: thank you :)
